 I had great coverage behind a bushy sapling and Mr. Blue Heron caught a fish ..
Outtake for FS as perhaps too busy and not clean enuf but, i loved that he caught the fish (he looks surprised he caught a fish to) And i like his wings..

pp. cropped, cloned out debris top section of water, > sat over bill, brightened eyes, shadow/highlight wings, Nik filter brillant/warm, usm.. resized saved for web..

Great capture! I love these moments in wildlife photography... Not your usual heron shot :) Herons here are very shy and it would be highly unusual to capture a moment like this!

Great shot. I think he got some seaweed too. You've captured wonderful colors and I love the fast shutter speed to freeze the action. It seems a little overly contrasty to me.

Great capture :-) I usually see them fishing in shallower water so they don't need to use their wings so much for balance when they strike. I love this pose!

absolutely marvelous catch. I can see why you'd think it was too busy for a free study. Too busy for some people, perhaps. But certainly not for us nature lovers! We know how difficult this can be. I think it's spectacular!
