Powerful in B&W indeed, perhaps more than the similar images in color in ths challenge.
The composition is excellent too.
Just a bit oversharpened.

Obviously I haven't seen the color version but this photo seems like one that really should be in color. You've done such a great job of composition and focus but it seems a little flat in black and white
