 The faithful are circling the Kaaba commemorating Abraham's footsteps. Kaaba is in the sanctified grand mosque in Mecca, photo taken on August 25th 2009 Anno Domini the fourth day of Ramadan 1430 Hijri. No tripod was used the guardrail of the roof floor had to serve as one for the 4 second exposure.

How did you get access to this place that is usually a no-no even for Ahl al-Kitab? great shot anyway, should have placed higher.

What really makes it for me is to see the swirl of people as they move about during the ritual. That looks really cool.

Wonderful pure capture, i gotta go there and take photos one day. Simply beautiful. I think the subject alone is grounds for high scores, subject aside, its a great photograph. I gave this a 10. The only MINOR thing i would suggest is a slightly tighter crop from the right side. It might further push the Ka'aba away from the center. Looking forward to seeing the photographer behind the photo :P

I suspect this shot will only come to it's full right viewed very large. Visually very stunning. A great scene.
