The Rafflesia Flower is the largest flower in the world.

From the time a Rafflesia begins growing, it takes 15 months to bloom and dies within a few days.

It's interesting to see these things in their native habitat -- I got to see a "Corpse Flower" (another giant) from the neighboring island of Sumatra in bloom last year at the UC Botabical Garden
