 Wow! Was surprised to find a number of people that did not know Frog Jumping contests really existed. The Township Chamber of Commerce has been holding one for most of 25 years.

Not too sure of the animal rights thing. Always have qualms about it every year. But the Chamber works hard to make sure the frogs are treated as humanely as possible. They even catalogue which ponds the frogs are captured from and then return them. I know it is still a stress.

Every year the event draws hundreds of jumpers and jockeys. One year the winning frog from the Calaveras County, CA Frog Jump showed up to challenge our home grown variety. It jumped sixteen feet seven inches. The jump has never been beaten.

Along with the frog jumping there are hundreds of activities for the kids to get involved in. All, of course with a frog theme.

Cool. Shot. I used to work for a circus and the animal rights people would always be out picketing. The funny thing was...the circus treated their animals better than they did the people that worked for them.
