 I think "A Light in the Window" fits this shot quite well. The golden glow around the window frame has almost a religious feel to it, shining down upon this run down back alley, and the book is about a pastor in a small town.

Pre-challenge notes:
I have no feel at all how this will do in voting, but I like it.

Anticipated critiques:
-Trash on grass that I overlooked when taking the shot and could not be clone out under basic rules.
-Too dark
-Oversaturated
-Could get called up for validation from someone thinking that glowing window is 'shopped. It wasn't. The sunlight was hitting it just right.

Post-challenge notes:
My usual mid-packish finish. I was pretty sure this would not meet with the broad appeal for a super high score. Still a good showing for me, and getting a very nice comment from AP, who is on my own faves list was a nice treat. Love's comment is going to be on my list of most memorable comments. I'm pleased that I captured something to make her stop and stare at it like that.

As usual, feedback from the folks who felt it to be a poor effort would be appreciated, though is is not expected.

I thought this was pretty cool. I gave it a 7. I'm not sure what it would take to make this score higher but there seem to be a lot of literal,traditional kind voters at the moment. It's a great capture!

I loved this image! My only thoughts are the trash and maybe change the crop to cut out the bottom 1/8 of the frame as it doesn't seem to add much to the image...and, well, the barrel distortion, but obviously there's really nothing you can do about that under Basic. 8

That's different but I do like it. The colors in the brick are pretty prominent also and the sky is a nice blue.
