This is incredible. If it doesn't come in at least in the top ten, I give up. That said, there is room to make even better; getting the right eye in clear detail, not shadow. Positioning the fly lower in the frame. Sorry there's no eleven.

Erie. One of my favorite this week

whoah, that's a big fly. really got the idea of the challenge, and the magic of macros. if you get close enough, you give us a view of this little mundane thing that's totally new and striking. ten for you.

In my voting order, you immediately followed anoter fly. How ironic!?! This photo has an extra shallow DOF. It is a little on the dark side but pretty good despite - Inspzil

Look at the hair on that fly. I'd have loved a close up of the eyes, eith one. Pretty good as is - can almost see all the lenses. Realize it's hard to get his wings in focus with them moving but his body is really out of focus also. Good face. That's one 3rd of his body does that mean the score is one 3rd of 10. 3's too low for a head like that but can't go higher than 5. Still fair score. PTL

Great closeup! I do wish the depth of field was a bit less so that more of the fly was in focus.

Here's what I don't understand. I have never been able to get a fly to sit still for me, how did you do it! This was fun to see.

Nice shot, but I would like to see it more in focus, I know it is hard to tell it to sit still for the perfect shot!

even thoug much is out of focus, it almost adds to this photo. the red eyes are striking.

Nice shoot. Intresting color to the eyes.

Great shot, although i think it would be even better if more of the little bugger was in focus, of if the right side was lit slightly more. karmat
