Finally i reach the control tower, climb up to the control room and what do I have to see? The airfield has been transformed into a huge solar power plant. In fact i found out that it is going to be the strongest solar (photovoltaic) power plant in the world by the end of this year producing 40 Million KWH per year and covering an area of 110 hectars!
That also explained all the security on the site i had to be aware of while strolling around the area...
Anyways, it was kind of bizarre to see a former sovjet military airbase, where russian and german jet planes and possibly Antonov's and Iljushin's took off and landed not even 20 years ago, now being used to produce "green" energy for kapitalistic companies. The control tower obviously doesn't mind, its years are over, it can only watch...
