The bird did not take off, it just moved in this position for 2 minutes, then it flapped it's wings and it kept looking at us.

Wow, have no looked here in along time! Thanks for the review and the heads up. I did not read the challenge properly so your right on that and I apologise for that. Oh and it did not squirt as I was anticipating this to while the moving car was moving even closer to it. I also did not have much time to alter camera settings and it sure was not in the my menu settings on the 450d I use. I have more on flickr.com/gipukan/ but getting close to this bird is really hard in the open field while lions and hyena\'s are roaming in the high grass. And a boat on water is even harder.

What an amazing bird. You certainly captured its position. I think it is important to read the challenge description more carefully to clear up any misunderstandings when shooting for a challenge.

The focus is off in this photograph and needs to be tack sharp on the stork. The colours on this stork are amazing and in post processing these colours could have been boosted to really stand out. Contrast would help this shot, at the moment the bird and the background all seem to be one. It is a fairly flat photograph so a different DOF would help as well. Your ISO is very high and that could account for the grain that I am seeing. Cropping on the left hand side would have got rid of some of the dead space and given more focus on the bird.

With amazing wildlife like this around you , I am sure we will see some stunning work from you.

Indeed...but that's about it!

I really don't know if this fits the challenge but that is a strange position for a bird to be in. It looks like you caught it in the middle of dancing.

some more contrast and less DOF would have helped

Good timing though the image is a little underexposed.

It appears as though you either did not understand or chose to ignore the challenge description.
