How very sad. And the darkness and B&W of the shot seem to emphasize the bleakness of it all.

This is sad. I know at least two people close to me are being foreclosed on right now too. It's such a sad commentary on society when houses sit empty while people live on the streets.

Hi Gregg..that was actually this one


they worked out a deal with the bank and are still living in the house, while the farm is on the mkt for sale..no idea how they are making a living.

Very sad!

When you look at this it's hard to believe this is 2009. This is a sad commentary on the state of our economy. Very well done!

well I was jut about to comment on how much I liked the composition with the smoke and the way the girl is looking at us and then I read the commentary which left me feeling rather sad.
It just highlights how the true facts behind a picture can influence your impresion of it.

I remember this shot in the side challenge Anne - it hasn't changed a bit - hope the family's found somewhere nice to live.
