 When it was finally announced on the media that the war was over, and that Prabhakaran was dead, people came out with the flags and celebrated on the streets.

I love this flag. It's probably one of my most favourite flags. When I was learning geography in school it got my attention and since then I'm happy whenever I see it. Somehow the first thing that is attached to seeing it is Ceylon, rather than Sri Lanka, although the name changed before I was even born...
