This is how wild the deer aren't in Cades Cove. I took this from my car with a wide angle lens. On the opposite side were at least 8 more deer going about their grazing.You can nearly get right up in the animal's faces and snap a picture.

It's interesting how that works. In our area there are several Battlefield Parks maintained by the NPS. The deer in these large land areas are not hunted and they also see people on a consistent basis. Very little fear displayed by the deer here. Yet ... in our yard at home, we'll see deer frequently, even up to the house, yet if they see movement by the window they get spooked. They are also fair game to hunting in the woodlands behind our house (where they are pursued by some of my neighbors).
