Shot at the Tulip Arabian Horse Show in a costume class. Arabians are considered 'hot' horses anyway, and you can be sure just a little grain goes a long way to powering their engines.

pp: RAW to TIFF, rotate slightly, crop, curves, exposure, contrast, resize, unsharp mask, sharpen edges, save for web

Post-challenge comment: this was an amazingly hard shot to get. I was at the other end of a very large indoor sand ring, shooting towards just one very small area where the riders would be heading into the natural light before turning down and towards me. The rest of the lighting inside was halogen lights, made things very tough. So I had to shoot at a high ISO anyway to catch the motion and detail, and try to get grain naturally, and had to try and get them in that split second of suspension.

Beautiful shot! Not sure this needs the grain - I'm betting it looks just fine without it, actually. You even got the horse smiling, and the costumes are lovely!

Nice pic, but where's the grain? It seems to be evident only in the hooves of the horse and that could be explained by the motion. Fairly dynamic as is, but the composition could improve by off centering the girl a bit more.

good panning, but i wish the grain were more predominant in the image.

Nice shot. Grain treatment seemed a little too light, though. I see it in the background, but perhaps a bit of shadowing around the figure would have made the image standout more.
