Pure luck. While on a trip to Maine, there was a big waterfall visible behind the hotel where I was staying, so I stepped out back with a zoom to see if there was any potential. The falls were raging and muddy from too much rain, but as a result I had the camera set to a slow shutter speed when I spotted two eagles chasing each other. I'd never seen one in the wild before, and I fired off a handheld "desperation burst" as they flew past on the far side of the river. So... no setup, no planning, and no second chances: 1/30 sec handheld with a 400mm lens at full zoom and I actually managed a decent shot. :-)
Not much processing- crop and slight rotate to straighten, flip canvas horizontally, levels, USM, channel mixer for saturation. |

Great to see you get a Blue after what seems a lifetime for you...and with a below 6 score - has to be some kind of record doesn't it?
