 I'm not even sure why I like this, but I do. That is a little tree seedling, of some other species,(probably planted by birds), growing in the juncture of trunk and branches. Poor little thing is doomed so my title of Cradle might be a bit off.
Can't remember everything I did to this, but it involved b/c, h/s, and poster edges.

I have a shot this reminds me of from very early on when I first got my digital camera and went looking - stuff like this catches my eye as well. I think it's something about the resiliency of nature, perhaps. I like the edit - good detail in the tree, and I really like the way that golden light paints the inside of the juncture.
