 Started with Crisp and played with the sliders, then curves, and sharpened. Maybe this is overkill!

Not even close to overkill! Look at some of the early photos in this thread (especially mine!) for true over-the-top processing! This was done quite nicely, actually! ed for typo

Overkill? Not yet. this just brings out the colors and earthiness of the forest.
