A scene from the infirmary of a decommissioned Naval training facility on Seneca Lake in New York.

[May. 20th, 2009 10:01:47 PM]

This infirmary is part of a whole complex which was once a Naval training facility in the Finger Lakes region of Western New York. Built in 1942, it was the second largest base of it's kind in the US. Later, in 1945, the installation's designation was changed to that of separation center for discharging troops. The base was used by the Air Force during the Korean War before it was shut down in 1956. Today, a portion of the land on which the base rests has been reverted to civilian use. Although this building and the ones surrounding it are still on land that is designated as "restricted".

Awesome find. I'd like to see more of this place, maybe some different angles to take advantage of the space. Underrated, IMO.
