Excellent edit! You started with an excellent shot, too. The adjustments are just right - there's a nice difference from the original, but not an overpowering one.

the details you were able to pull out around the nose is outstanding but i am not sold with the graininess around the ears as much - clearly thisis a much more dramatic edit than the original

Big WOW factor! But I think I like the soft colors of the original. Except the eyes in this one are very intense. Maybe these eyes with the original would be a good combination of WOW and soft.
