I took this rose against a blue sky which ended up completely white. I selected the white and filled it with black from paint bucket.
Then I found the blue sky reflection very noticeable on the rose so I used selective colour to tone that down. Then I upped the red and darkened the image in variations, and now it looks more like the real rose does. I thought it looked a little crowded so I added a bit of black canvas before the red then black border.
Ohhh it's just breathtaking ! You did what it needed to bring the image to it's full potential- that facinates me- how you would know what to do in your editing- anyway, i LOVE it !!!!
Came out looking very dramatic, and the water drop looks a lot like a tear. Very nice job on the processing; I would never have guessed you completely changed the background!
