Greetings from the Critique Club

I am sorry that this did not score better for you, I personally thought it was rather an interesting photo for this challenge. I suspect you knew that the abstract nature of the photo would probably not give you a very high score.

The incredibly shallow depth of field is perhaps hurting you a little, as you know DPCers like things to be tack sharp. I wonder if the chair is cropped a little bit too tightly, it maybe nice to see the chair in a bit more context.

Overall though I liked the composition and abstract nature of the shot. Only sorry it didn't score higher for you.

This is the type of close-up I would probably try most of the time, with an emphasis on form and texture; hopefully you'll get a better result than I usually do.

What a pity this pic will not get its due. DPC is not so tolorant to true creativity.

I like what the b/w did for this. It draws my eye in nicely. Maybe could have used some selective noise reduction in a couple of areas. (No vote, comment only)

Nice subtle abstract that looks great in monochrome. Sepia might be another option but personally I like this the way it is. Great contrast and subtle control of depth of field.
