Oh, this was SUCH fun! Exceptionally silly, but fun.
Immediately thought of something rain-related for this challenge since it has been raining every day for weeks, and then thought of worms, and that was that. Dug up a bunch, rinsed them off in a puddle, put them in a cereal bowl with a spoon and took pictures in between efforts to herd them back into the bowl. Shot outside in a brief interval between rainstorms. Felt the focus on an escaping worm or two was most interesting, visually.
Used a nice, 3-dimensional worm-pink font.
Can't wait for all the well-deserved EWWWWW comments :-)
PP - converted from RAW, cropped, levels, white balance, increased saturation, shifted whole thing a little pinker, added border, resized, sharpened, added text.

Note to self: allow for cultural differences and don't make people guess at what you're poking fun at! Not that this would have scored any higher (it's still icky to look at). The saying I was going for is "The early bird catches the worm." So that could be a person getting up early and having worms for breakfast (hence the bowl and spoon) or the worm getting up and out of the bowl before the others and promptly being eaten (hence the escaping worms). But clearly not subject to either interpretation for those unfamiliar with the saying ;-) |
