 This is a scan of a snapshot taken ca. 1928 of my mother and her two brothers. They were on a trip "Out West" from St. Paul, Minnesota, to stay with relatives in Oregon.

The overlays are some Chinese paper, a Route 66 sign, and a postcard with a map of Arizona on it. After I had done this with the Route 66 sign, I realized that Route 66 runs through Northern Arizona, nowhere near the saguaro cacti. In the same batch of pictures there is a picture of a bridge over a river, that may be the Colorado, so I think that this was probably taken along US 80.

Great juxtaposition of related images. I like the pose and the chopped off feet - that's what I'd do.

Ohmygosh, Germaine! This is fabulous! For some reason "old" is so absolutely appealing to us in our modern era, and you NAILED this on every element!

Fantastic result with the old photo and relevant overlays. I'm so glad you used an old photo, coz I've been wondering myself if that would be okay. Now if I can find what I'm thinking of and come up with overlay ideas I'll try it.

just last night I was watching the history channel and though..."maps...old maps" that would be a great overlay...and guess what...here is it...wonderful combination of elements...love the "out of the family album" feel that this gives!!
