 A crab apple blossom in our yard. Sharpen, levels, soft light, Lucis Art Plaid 1, border, type, save for web.


Some people are like trees
or so it seems
if you get what I mean.

Some are strong as an oak.
Some live as long as redwoods
bending with the wind.
Some like sugar maples
snap with a gust of wind.

A few people are like some other trees.
Think about the crab apple tree
and you will see what I mean.

Some weep like a willow;
Some all peaches and cream.
Then there are the pear, apple, prune and plum.

A prune is just a plum.
What’s a fig without a leaf?
Some need that fig leaf to cover their blushing cheeks.
Some choose the elm.
No need to go to extremes.
Of that I wouldn’t dream
even though I know some people are like some other trees.

Lovely shot, and fun poem to go with it. My neighbor's crabapple is pink; I hadn't realized they also come in white. His is just gorgeous when it blooms and I always get drawn into taking photos of it. Irresistably pretty :-)
