 When driving home from a recent Aurora shooting session my wife noticed this odd looking cloud. The moon had started shining and lit it from behind making it glow in the dark night.

Out of the car I went. To my pleasure the Aurora showed up again when I started shooting. It was like the Aurora was sword fencing with that cloud.

Actually the where not even near each other. The cloud was likely at an altitude of around 1-2km while the Aurora was 80-200km higher up in the air.

A very nice image that just falls short of being perfectly executed. The foreground appearance against the sky appears false in that the precision of the edges against the rather diffused sky are distracting. The starfield highlights are perfectly exposed which is a huge plus. A good solid entry into the challenge that just falls short of complete technical and artistic success.
