 Thought of this idea on the way home one day. I was not originally going to do the selective coloring on the plant but decided to at the last minute hoping that it's not a DQable offense. Almost every challenge I try to go to youtube and look up a new technique and try it. This time it was selective coloring.

I liked the contrast of the trash being drab and the plant being colorful. I think it strongly portrays what I was going for in this image.

I like the composition on the upper half of the photo, but I think the bottom half could use a little more attention. The selective desat works well here.

I can't say that this helps me understand anything. I suppose nature will persevere regardless of how much garbage we create - but I'm not sure I get the photo as telling me much.
