Eadweard Muybridge in 1872 settled a bet on whether a horse ever has all four feet off the ground at the same time. This is a perfect example of that which is still argued today. A richly detailed and dramatic image, this demonstrates the beauty, grace and style of a running horse in the Sport of Kings. Unfortunately, the image appears to be over saturated and over sharpened - the author would have done well to turn down the color intensity and allowed the image to speak for itself without sharpening. A worthy entry into the challenge, a little less post processing would have made this a top ten image and a potential ribbon winner. |
