 I wonder if this would be received as candid. It is unstaged and has emotion, but they're all facing away, no face emotions... and stalking them with telephoto, nc, nc.
edit: slight crop, levels, channel mixer to generate grayscale, both shadow&highlights, curves, resized, usm, border

I love the composition with the exception of his head being cut off at the top.

The sense of "moment" is present in this image and the obvious character being captured carries some visual impact. Technically, it's a very well composed image which is a plus including a nearly perfect conversion to black and white. From an artistic standpoint, it lacks impact. A worthy entry into the challenge just lacking that something special to make it stand out.

border doesnt help as it calls attention to crop of mans head and so close to his right foot; good b&w and angle. good candid.
