My first successful attempt to shoot in my home made light box. Well, I think it's a successful attempt.

I can see where you cloned out shadows. A lot of them can be avoided if you have light from more than just one direction. A light box is not really a solid box. Each side, top, back should allow light to pass through. So making a box 'frame' then using white material to cover it would allow you to position lights on any side which would help to minimize the shadows. If you go to this site and just move your mouse over the menu options, the pictures will change and you will see exactly what I mean. The purpose is more to diffuse the light to eliminate glare and even out the light as well as position lights to eliminate shadow. Also if you go to the step-by-step link and watch the short videos you will get a lot of info.

Your detail here is nice, appears a bit over-sharpened - I could be wrong on this, but the edges of the trigger and some of the bullets appears 'stepped' or jagged. I usually see this when I push sharpening a bit too far. The bulk of your light seems to be focused on the center of the gun while the butt near the magazine and the barrel end - from the X to the end - appear darker. These areas also seem to have had some shadow removed. Again, this can be avoided if the light were more diffused and came from more than one direction.

Overall not a bad shot. Some may not like the subject matter, but that shouldn't preclude the technicals.
