This shot was taken at Innes National Park , Yorke Peninsula , South Australia. The national park lies 300km from Adelaide where we live. My wife and I decided to visit the area during the Easter long weekend with a view to photographing the area at all times of day. It was a full moon making star trails difficult so I opted instead to go for a static star shot itself with an Aussie icon in the foreground. This image was taken at about 5am, 45 minutes before first light.

Even after multiple views, it's sometimes hard to define the author's intent. In those cases, it's often best to just give the benefit of the doubt to the author and just let an opinion fly. This is a great image in particular with the intentional (unintentional?) starfield which technically is a source of night light not ordinarily seen in areas that are light polluted. Simple and direct. Ah heck with it - well done.
