 A Hadeda Ibis sunning itself on the house roof.
They feed on the ground probing in the soil for insects with their long Beaks
they are normaly in groups and are very noisy! Their call is hadahada hence their name!

I love the irridescence on the wings - almost looks as though it has sequins sewn on! A very interesting bird.

Nice shot of one - you managed to make it look quite different from usual. Especially with all the expression in the eye - and I know how hard it is to get them in the right light - feathers look like mother of pearl. Lovely.

You're lucky with the blue sky. Serves well as a nice background for this ibis. The colors of the bird are fitting very well with the roof.

Oh yes, I was missing my weekly South African bird.

Lovely sharp take this one - we have similar blue skies, as it happens, but we don't have they birds :)
