The background was another flower which looked the same, but was just bigger :) I was holding the flower in place by the stem, but the shallow DoF rendered it invisible :)

Really beautiful shot - I love the sharpness of the center along with the pollen and how it fades to softness. What did you use for a background? It's beautiful!
