I pick this rose from my garden early this morning. While sitting on the table, I noticed that the back of the petals has very nice textures. So I took out my camera and started taking photos.

It looks more red to me. A little curves could help here. As is it's a little flat.

nice photograph. i think a slight levels adjustment could help brighten things up a bit, but that's just my preference

An image that demonstates the subject matter of the challenge in spectacular fashion with excellant DOF and color control. Both a technical and artistic success that more than adequately meets the challenge subject in particular with the color shades. A very worthy contender for top ten honors and a possible ribbon contender.

Good subject. A closer view of the petals might be more interesting from a texture perspective. Shot is a little soft and composition is too straight-on and centered for my taste.

nice rich color...but I think that a shot from the top would have shown the "velvety softness" better....IMO

Kind of soft. My preference is for a sharper image to high light the texture of the subject. But thats just me...
