 To get a feeling for the hugeness of this old tree, find the bench for people to rest on, at the lower left edge of the tree. The big dark evergreen is like its bodyguard. It was old when it was endangered by construction. The townspeople got a fund drive together to save it, & it was moved on a large flatbed truck to the botanical garden where it has pride of place at the edge of a large meadow. Impossible to do it justice w/a mere photograph.
