 First of all I have to thank my beautifull and patient girlfriend for sticking with me through my endless nagging about photographing and still volunteer to model for me. You're one of a kind sweetie!

I had several ideas for this challenge. I had titles like "Screaming for Vengeance", "When a blind man Cries", "November Rain" etc in mind, but since my girlfriend wanted to model we had to find something suitable for a young woman, thus "Lost Woman" by James Gang. We went on location and shot several photos, originally for "Strange Kind of Woman" (which she is), but we decided going for this one.

Whatever score this may get wont change the fact that I had a wonderfull time shooting on location with my girlfriend, and I hope I get to do that again with her!

Post-processing:

Shot in Raw, fixed a little in raw.
Opened
Soft light layer with a high pass filter.
Merge.
Overlay layer at 35 opacity.
Merge.
Adjustment layer: channel Mixer, fooling around in monocrom till I got the result I wanted.
Merge.
Canvas to add a border.
Scaled down!

Not quite creating the frisson or defamiliarization to win me over completely, probably because of the fashionableness of the model, but it is a delightfully strange picture nonetheless.

I think I would have liked to have seen more background so she really looked lost for this particular challenge, but otherwise an excellent shot, nice b&w toning

good idea but ambiguous in terms of setting, and in this case I think a more candid setup would have added more in terms of impact.
