I really wanted to shoot something where the 1s exposure was actually used to give an effect difficult to reproduce at any other shutter speed.

This image was taken in my garden in bright sunlight with a 1000X neutral density filter.

I'm sure some people won't like the blur but not only were the flowers moving during the barrage from the watering can; but capturing the rain required a slightly different plane of focus to the flowers - hence the important word in the title is 'through'.

I believe that the end result could charitably referred to as 'dreamy'!

I like the way you can see the tracks of the drops and even how some of them bounce - some of them even appear to spiral.

Overall, I'm happy enough with the result to not really mind what the score might be.

Oh yes, I really enjoyed this image. I bet it's spectacular at full size too. Congratulations for the Posthumous red!

Perfect application of the 1 second. I love the way the streaking rain looks like scratches on glass.

Interesting use of highlighting. Makes for an impressionist style.

Beautiful. Unexpected emotions produced by this one. The flowers look delicate but strong, resilient. 9 from me.

VERY interesting image, with the rain creating a kind of texture, the slight motion of the flowers, a creative use of DOF and exposure.
Completely different, but fascinating.

This almost was a woodcut print feel to it

The overexposure and blurriness will probably cost you some votes, but I really like the muted pink/green. It's almost abstract.
