The Image: Taken at the Sagkahan slum where we have been working at alleviating poverty and bringing hope to the village. This girl was rather shy, but took to the camera immediately and posed with her gorgeous eyes locked on my lens for about 7 images. I will print them and take them back when I return later in the year.

I have a strong emotional connection to these slums and the people who live there. As a church, we are working with them to save these kids from disease, malnutrition, and worst of all, prostitution.

The Edit: Many adjustment layers and masks to bring our the lighting and tones. I was debating whether to go black and white, but loved the skin tones and the daylight I used coming into the dark house.

I love the strong contrast and I love the detail in the door post.

The Prediction: Being a FS...not sure - mid sixes?

Post: I was right in my prediction, but at the end of the day, I hoped for better as I love the poignancy of the moment...this place has captivated my heart as have its people.

This is so so striking and beautiful, Enzo! You can really feel the connection between the photographer and his subject. A tribute to the dignity and warmth you gave this beautiful girl. God BLESS your work there! And please keep sharing your photos. This is the type of photography that I am the most passionate about. Your work goes way beyond just making a good score in a challenge where chances are, they were mostly looking for Iceland landscapes anyway :) Keep up the great work -- both photographically and Kingdom related!

What honest and natural beauty, in such a tough place to live. Nicely found, and the composition and light is perfect for the whole scene.
Congrats on a great image, and to you for your service to those in need.

A NatGeo style shot that would be perfectly fitting in a photographic journal story. Nicely composed with great lighting.
