No, I did not burn an actual copy of Fahrenheit 451! It was a rather poor mockup, but I think it is rather ironic for this challenge. I burned it in a gas grill to contain the flames, but the stainless steel also doubled as a reflector.

Some voters may say the fire is not the MAIN subject, so I forecast a score of 4.8 to 5.0

Great idea, great book. Definitely interesting, well done. Overall, I think the composition is not quite there. As it is, it's a bit like a mug shot. With that said, I'm impressed with the concept, and this is also a case of me spouting off about something I don't do very well...still life composition! ;)

For what it's worth I thought this was one of the most interesting shots in the challenge, and I did like the book when i read it years ago lol

I can just imagine you hope and panic as it starts to burn and you saying "please dont burn the title before i get the shot!!!!"
Great work.

Very cool idea, but I wish the picture was clearer.

Really interesting concept, but the composition seems a little dull. Maybe a tilt to the left leaving only half the title would have made it more engaging. After all, viewers either know the importance of the title or they don't, and if they do they would have identified the book from half the title.

The image is excellent, but burning books is not something I would like to promote, so I'm abstaining from voting on this one.

It was brought to my attention that no books were harmed in the making of this image, which makes me change my standing and vote (highly) on this after all.

Very clever shot, hey tell me you heated this to 451F just for realism lol
