This was taken last weekend at my brothers house. He has three Alders growing in the back yard.
The Alder cone is about 1" long.

Creepy crawlie! Those jumping spiders can be annoying little creatures but this one looks real cute sitting on that pine cone. I wonder if his feet got stuck in the sap?

Ohhhhh GREG! This is freaking a-MAZING! I was curious when I saw the thumbnail, but when it opened up, I seriously 'bout fell out of my chair it was so cool! What a fabulous perspective, and such ridiculous detail on that tiny little subject!

Wow! Between you and Roz. . .you are in a league of your own!

I don't know anything about these spiders, but if those are his eyes, he has a wild buggy pair!

Incredible, Greg. I had an alder ( drought victim) and I know how tiny those cones are. Those eyes on the tiny spider are amazing, and he sort of looks like he has a whopping great beard.

Eeep! Jumping spiders are just so freaky, I would never be able to get close enough to one to take a picture. Good eyes (yours, the measly 2 you have), to spot him among those cones.
