Completely dark room with only light source being the LED used to create the swirls (approx 5 of the 25sec exposure). The light bulb is simply sitting in a rubber grommet.
I'd done this back in 2006 as an experiment and it was immediately what came to mind for this challenge. Hopefully the fact this "technique" has been used in recent challenges by others doesn't result in lower scores due to a copycat mentality; I'll link to my originals post challenge.
Other than RAW conversion, crop and slight color correction using Selective Color adjustment layer, this is pretty much straight from camera. Windowless room, black base and background, all lights off after setup, 25sec exposure with the light swirls done within the first 5 (using key-fob LED).
