Inland waters, solitary. Common resident.

Learnt a hard lesson with this one- tried to put the ISO up to 400 as a test so that I could get a faster shutter speed, and turned out so grainy I really had to work it in post. Not sure that I got such a great result- a bit of artifacting and still a bit noisy. Ah well.

Still no grain issues for me. I like how this one is more of an action shot.

I don't see the noise at all - methinks you're a bit too picky! :-) Besides, it generally doesn't bother me to begin with. LOVE the pose you got on this one!

PAW - I don't see this one as noisy either. Maybe it's my monitor or eyes, ut sometimes I get comments about my shots being noisy and sometimes I can't figure out where they see it. Nice composition, and I especially like the hazy background.

The composition on this is quite nice, with the curvature of the branch a nice counterpoint to the curvature of the bird's neck and beak. I don't find the noise bothersome at all. Where I do have a quibble, it's that you don't have super sharp focus on the bird's eye.
