thanks for the comments
i used my sigma 17-70 that has a closeup feature that lets you get right up to the subject and focus. this shot is hand held and i was kneeling on some gravel so was a bit difficult to keep a steady hand on this one. i was trying to focus on the stamens but it didnt quite turn out that way. |

Very good color and a nice capture of the coming of spring. What lens are you using for these? Is this handheld or tripod? I ask because while I don't mind the shallow DOF, I'm not quite seeing where you wanted to focus in this one. |

PAW - Again the DOF is very shallow here, and I think better DOF is needed more here than the moss shot. You don't need the whole flower in focus, but everything around the middle should probably be in focus, and it seems the focus is before the middle. |
