This is my friend, Melissa, who I met on BetterPhoto. She lives in Colorado near where we were staying last week in Estes Park, so she rented a cabin next to ours, and we got to hang out for a while. We were sitting in her cabin in front of the fire sipping a glass of wine when we looked out our window and saw we had a visitor :)

Its so funny because we could have driven into the Park and seen cars lined up alongside the road for miles with big zoomed cameras trying to get a glimpse of an elk in the field a mile away, and here we had a big daddy right on our front porch :)

It was such a fun trip! I'm still floating and suffering from bad mountain withdrawals!

I just LOVE how you processed this! It's so soft and pretty. The select. desat is perfect, and it's great how he stopped and posed!

Great shot, Sandy. But what stands out even more is the picture perfect processing you did.

LOL! He seems VERY used to tourists taking his picture, doesn't he? Kind of like "can you get the antlers in? Do I need to turn my head a bit? Here - how's that?" I can see you were roughing it there in those cabins.... :-)

PAW - What a majestic animal! What is it, an elk? It's such an out-of-place sighting that I might expect in Alaska more than Colorado. Perfect framing just catching both the animal and your friend showing the proximity you were to it.

Beautiful. I like how this way of the processing is telling the story.

Serendipity, it's called! This is lovely, a little voyeuristic moment - I really love it. Also I think you've done a great job of getting the colour saturation just right- this can look a bit cheesy sometimes if done wrong but I think you've done it perfectly.

It's like he knew you were animal lovers so he decided to just save you a long zoom and a bunch of walking. What a delight. :~)
