Cory had been shooting this guy out the window of the Starbucks - he's been passionately talking to several American young ladies about something, though I never did figure out what. When we came out with the cameras (and the tripod, in Cory's case), this guy came over and proceeded to tell Cory that he COULD NOT take his picture without permission in Germany, and that he would sue him if he did! He also proceeded to explain that he was AMERICAN and he had rights! (In Germany, no less.) Cory very kindly did not deck the guy. And the guy apparently did not notice me taking pictures of him telling Cory he couldn't take pictures.

Hey, I don't like my picture taken either... But (I can only speak of the United States
I'm making an assumption here, but I seriously doubt if the guy had "cultural" worries about Fetor capturing his spirit/soul....

Drive on Fetor and Melethia, get some more great street scenes...

What a great story and your B&W conversion is excellent.

Love the story to go with the picture. Love the composition and how they're facing each other.

PAW - Funny. I doubt he's worried about your capturing his spirit, but more concerned about evidence of him coming on to girls. Very good candid shot.

Ha ha. Very funny. Interesting story and I like the subtle expressions that say so much about what is going on. I know maybe the guy may have seemed like a jerk, but I guess people have a right to ask not to have their picture taken. (I can see by the comments and by your photographer's comments that I 'm not going to be agreed with here!) But especially I know that in some cultures, having your picture taken is a bad thing as it is regarded as an unnatural capturing of the spirit. So, who knows?

I actually tend to sympathise with the 'victims' of trigger happy photographers, but there's nothing like shooting your mouth off to lose sympathy.
Enjoyed - as ever...

That is HILARIOUS! Cory looks so amused by his "chewing out" session. And you guys are so baad, clicking away while he pitches a fit over having his picture taken :) I love it! This is awesome!

I love the way the camera - the object that was apparently causing the problem - forms a natural barrier between the two of them . . also nice contrast in expressions.
