Amazing close up.. I have a pair near the edge of the forest and am always trying to sneak up on them.. The way they peck the tree sounds like a machine gun going off.. Now am wondering if they kill a tree in the process of making holes.. Notice they haven't stayed on the current hole but several in the same big tree..
