 A friend of ours invented a kit to build igloos. He is a true mountain man! He built this one in a day, and a group of our friends (not us tho) hiked up to where it was built and camped overnight. As for us? It was quite enough to sit in it and laugh and talk and then head back down to a fire and a steak dinner in the cabin :)

Part of the igloo is below the ground that you see so it is much bigger in there than it looks. There is a step up, and u-shaped benches made of snow to lay mats down and sit on. It was surprisingly cozy and warm in there.

And, I have to show you a picture that one of the campers in our group, Aleks, took at night after the rest of us headed back. Pretty cool, huh?

Pretty amazing stuff, Sandy. I just think the winter months (when snow shows up) are the most beautiful. Love the night shot your friend took with the creative artwork. WOW.
