I like the colours; they energize, in an appropriately lurid and yellow green way. |

superbly intimated ephemerality. (!)
however, wouldn't it have been wiser to have done something completely different, say taken a friend to lunch, or you could have photographed a soldier or a poet crushing a rose beneath his bootheel, and titled the picture "art".
or something.
i gave it a 9, because i just don't give 10s, on principle

[sigh] I'm disappointed to see this dq'd, but it takes nothing away from the image.
Would you mind sharing your thoughts behind the image? What it means to you? What you'd like us to come away with after viewing it? I would love to know more... |

I feel your pain. And the blurred grainy image actually works to convey that emotion. Surely not to popular taste but not without redeeming factors. |

This is brilliant, of course. I love the pallette of tones you've used and the negative space. Truly, I think only qualified art critics can effectively comment on your work. I never feel qualified to say anything meaningful. |

No doubt this represents one of the folks that committed to commenting on the entire challenge. Not visible in this frame is the extra grande mochachino latte frappinata, with extra caffeine. An essential accessory for such an undertaking. |

I sort of wish this title were something much more metaphorical, actually. The image is so eerie it went immediately into my top-seeds group for further evaluation. The title is so topical and so banal it's actually detracting from my enjoyment of this image, which has a perfectly timeless quality to it. For some reason I'm reminded of Robert Downey in "Restoration", don't ask me why.
For whatever reason, I like it. A lot :-) |

*if this is a picture of a person and not of a painting*...
This is fantastic! I love the tones and the pointilism effect. The subject seems to have some very 'classical' features.
Although it doesn't have a strong emotional punch for me, there is a mystique here, so I'm voting 9 |

Are you suggesting that after looking at 1000 submissions, I will be wary eyed, and blurred out??? You may be right.
I like this photo for its abstractness (is that a word?), and for going against the norm of what we see at DPC. |
