Barred Cuckoo, common name in South Africa is the Afrikaans Piet My Vrou (pronounced pete may fro, translated means Peter my wife. This nonsensical name is actually a local phonetic expression of the bird's call. Lives in canopies of lowland forests. Northern and sw Zimbabwe common resident. In South Africa they are migrants.

Excellent bokeh and lighting. What really makes this for me is the backlighting.

Beautiful. The lighting on the edges of the bird is nice, and the background is lovely too. Can't tell if there's a bit of yellowish cast to this. Might just be how it looks on my monitor.

The bokeh here really compliments this well! You've done a great job bringing out the bird against a background it naturally blends with (quite on purpose, I would think!).
