My son receives his first ever trophy! He lost the race (Pinewood Derby, cubscouts). But, he won "Coolest Car" by popular vote. His grin was ear to ear. The photo is terrible, the lighting was horrible (very, very dark) with bright light coming in the window right on his face.

He looks soooo happy! That is one big smile.

I like the processing and how everyone is looking at the big moment. Would be nice to have focus on boy, but I know sometimes the camera just gets it wrong and it's better to get the shot than not at all.

the reaction of the parents in the background and the focus on them makes this very interesting. A very special moment for sure.

Very cute - Norman Rockwell-esque.

Great moment, and it's great to see it. Nothing like a bit of pride in achievement to bring out the happy grin.

Hey, CONGRATULATIONS! You will remember this moment forever. I think the picture and the way you processed it is great. Your son is absolutely glowing! THAT's what makes the photo! Not the technicals! :)

In spite of all your drawbacks, this is a wonderfully charming image. The light is a little harsh on your son which is something you couldn't overcome without special filters, etc. But, the detail in the background is splendid, the people in the back come through beautifully and that is even harder to achieve. I think you did an excellent job capturing the emotion of this very special moment.
