|taken at my favorite nearby location, Avery Point, in Groton, CT. Used a 3-stop soft ND filter. Set-up the tripod, then waited for about an hour for the show to happen. Was a little cold, but I think it was worth it!
Opened RAW in LR, adjusting WB, vibrance, and saturation. Exported to CS3 (just got lightroom, so I don't know how to use it well enough to do all my editing there). Dupe layer for shadow/highlight adjustment, layers for levels and curves. Dupe layer in soft light mode, adjusting opacity, to bring more light into the foreground. Cloned out a small lighthouse on the horizon, a shrub, a bit of flare, as well as small distractions in the reflection and a couple of dust spots. Merged down, then sharpened using the Adamus tip (resized image to 1500 px, Sharpen 2x, resize to 720. (This method works great, BTW). Save for Web.
