Wow, how did you get this shot? Really the right place at the right time. Minor technical issues like the post behind the plane and not a very attractive foreground or background, but hey, whatcha gonna do? There's no re-shooting this one. Newspaper front page photo.

What a great capture.... Nice timing.

Wow...was this at an airshow? I hope they're ok.

how sad, my son builds and flies remote control planes and I know the time and money that goes into one. He also flies corporate jets as a job. Incredible capture on this on the timing and focus.

Good shot

Model?
02/28/2009 07:46:11 AM
OOOoh - crappy! I flown Texans myself and know how easily they ground loop. The center of gravity is just too high for a tail dragger. In this incident since the prop touched ground; the engine has to be pulled and completely overhauled. BIG bucks!!
Good capture though and a good sense of action!

you have to get some bonus points for getting this lucky shot.... unless you planned this plane crash for a dpchallenge comp which just shows your commitment.

I would have cropped it in tighter. At least getting rid of the line of grass between the two runways.

holy crap? was the pilot ok?
02/26/2009 03:50:32 PM
crumbs!

Wow... is that real or a model? Either way, good timing and good focus.

An amazing capture. I hope everyone was ok? A 9 from me. Minor point I wonder how it would have looked with a level horizon/runway. Maybe it would have given the impression of being even more dramatic because the tail would have been higher and the angle steeper. Just a thought and a once in a lifetime shot IMHO. Well done. EDIT - I showed this to my wife and she immediately pointed out it was a RC plane? If so, how silly do I feel! Even so, great shot and still a 9.

I am sure that you are going to get a ton of comments.
Right place - Right time - well done. Crisp focus, I just hope that no-one was hurt.

That pilot had a bad day at the office. You were certainly in the right place at the right time to capture this.

Wow, nice grab. Is this a real plane or an RC plane?
